the Louvre Museum owns a similar view “Vue du Louvre et de la tour de Nesle” (29×42 cm). The artist was inspired by a print of Jacques Callot (1592 – 1635) and represented the Louvre during the reign of Henri IV, with the Grande Galerie connecting the Petite Galerie to the Tuileries We notice, halfway of the Grande Galerie, the Porte neuve adjacent to the Wood tower (ruins of the enclosure of Charles V)
