François-Chéri Dubreuil was born the 6 february 1828 in Vic-en-Bigorre (Hautes-Pyrénées). He is the son of Pierre-Louis-Marguerite Fusey, baron Dubreuil owner in Vic and of Françoise Guinle
He was a junior officer and helmsman of the french naval fleet in the mid 19th century. He painted naval scene. He enters the 11 novembre 1840 at the school of navigation of the East at the expense of his father. He was an auxilliary aspiring the 25 septembre 1848 in Richefort on the frigate Mogador and Second Master of wheelhouse the 14 july 1854, volunteer in the Quartier des Saintes.
