Student in the school of Beaux-Arts of San Fernando of Madrid, he was the student of the famous Fédérico Madrazo. He traveled in Paris, integrating the artistic world of the capital and exhibiting in the salons. Then his customers spread from the english and north american market. During a stay in Rome, he will be influenced by Fortuny and italians watercolorists. Our painting refers one of the most festive moment in moroccan life : the Fantasia. Checa was one of the virtuosos specialists, painter of horses but also technician of watercolor and transparency.
